It rained and it rained

Our next trip took us to Osea which is just beyond Maldon. Two nights this time and better prepared but boy did it rain! The field was dry when we arrived but by the next morning we were surrounded much to Ruby's puzzlement. At least the sun was out giving a nice reflection.

First night away

Not wanting to venture too far we headed to a small site just outside Burnham on Crouch. We thought that we were fully equiped but soon realised there was still plenty to get.
Ruby did one of her favourite things and watched the horses.

Our first layby

Just collected from Marquis in Ipswich we had to stop to take breath and calm down.

It starts here

Rather like looking at a litter of puppies - there is no way you can walk away once seen!

The big smile is a give away. Salesman not required.

Off we go.

This is the blog of Katie, John and Ruby telling of their travels and adventures in their new home from home otherwise known as The Rubesmobile. It's no ordinary "van" hence the name of this blog. Some people reading this will remember Tilly our old Bedford van. It broke down many times and was totally unreliable. However, we had some great holidays and weekends but eventually enough was enough and she had to go with the promise that one day we would get a newer, more reliable motorhome.
With the sad death of John's Mum, who lived with us, we suddenly had the opportunity of going away on the spur of the moment and the open road beckoned. It was time to bring forward the decision to buy our retirement present.
We hope to travel around Britain and maybe Europe so hold tight and share this record of our adventures. They may only be small adventures but nevertheless they should be fun!
