Cambridgeshire

Our last trip took us to The Fens. You can see for miles as it is so flat. Long straight roads, long straight waterways and long shadows! Welney is a Wetlands Trust site where thousands of Whooper swans overwinter.
Finally one very sleepy Ruby.

Wales 2013

We stayed one night near Chepstow, three nights at Tenby, three nights at St Davids, three nights at Pennal near Machynlleth then a week with Kath and Jim at Cwm Mawr near Porthmadog.
The site at St Davids was on top of the cliff giving great views of the sea and at Pennal we looked right down the Dovey Valley
Here are some photos showing our various pitches, views from pitches, sunsets etc.
The last photo shows Cwm Mawr, the remote farmhouse where we have stayed for the past 11 years. You can just about see the Rubesmobile parked near the farm

Oxford - Art in Action

Art in Action is like the very best craft show you could imagine. Set in the grounds of Waterperry House artists of all description exhibit their work and there is the opportunity to take part in workshops.
We moved on to a small site at Marsh Baldon which is a beautiful village just outside Oxford.
Our pitch was not good as it was right next to the kitchen of the local pub. The owner soon realised that we were not happy and moved use to a very peaceful pitch on his farm. As can be seen from the first photo we were right next to a thatched cottage and we had to promise that we would not use our bbq!
In photo 2 you can see us on the farm.
The countryside around here is quite amazing. Ruby and John did some long early morning walks and came across a barn on fire. The fire brigade were pumping gallons of water into the barn with very little inpact on the fire. After an anxious start this was one of our best locations. We both spent a lot of time just sitting about with Katie drawing andmelistening to the test match.

Southminster

A very peaceful campsite in the heart of the Essex countryside. Fields full of linseed oil plantswhich carry lovely pale blue flowers which made a nice change from the yellow rapeseed fields.
